Engineering Manager (Project Management)
This position is a Safety Sensitive Position. The essential functions, physical demands, and the mental competencies of this job require the employee maintain the ability to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner.
SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Engineering Manager
Oversees the daily operation of the Engineering Department.Evaluates and documents the performance of engineering team members and counsels on unsatisfactory performance.Addresses personnel and administrative issues and solves problems among team members.Determines work procedures; prepares work schedules, expedites workflow, evaluates, counsels, and discusses with Director of Engineering any performance issues of team members.Performs monthly one on one meetings with team members.Ensures proper utilization of time by team members and approves payroll.Actively involved in hiring, onboarding, training, and evaluation of new team members.Ensures all team members have completed assigned training and competencies.Assists in the planning and installation of new medical equipment. Makes recommendations to the Director of Engineering for major repairs, upgrades, and/or replacements.Maintains CMMS system and inventory database and reviews for accuracy and completeness. Provides reports to Director of Engineering and other administrative staff as required.Assists in contract management and budget preparation.Problem solves, involves the Director of Engineering when needed.
Senior Engineer
Schedules and performs preventive maintenance, routine, and emergency repair of medical equipment in his/her specialty. Provides appropriate documentation of all service work performed.Orders parts, tools, and supplies. Provides appropriate documentation for all inventory items received, transferred or disbursed.Handles assigned responsibilities and projects in a professional manner with a minimum of supervision required.
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:
This position may require additional hours outside the normal 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday work schedule. Subject to callback, after-hours and weekend work, and travel, often with little advance notice.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: YES
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE AND REGISTRATION:
High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred: an associate or college degree in a technical field.Must maintain a valid Arkansas Drivers License.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ten years experience in performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of medical imaging equipment or radiotherapy equipment; minimum five years experience as primary or lead service engineer.Proven competency in troubleshooting and performing high-value/high-risk repairs of imaging and/or radiotherapy equipmentKnowledge and skills in mathematics, physics, and engineering, as required for maintenance of medical imaging devices.In-depth knowledge of digital and analog electronics theory as required for maintenance of all electronic equipment.Competency and knowledge in computer repair, to include: component replacement, OS install, network configuration, and basic configuration and commands.Competency in the use of CMMS software.Knowledge of institution and departmental policies and procedures and quality control guidelines.Knowledge of high-voltage and radiation safety procedures.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must interact and communicate both verbally and in written form.Must interact and exchange information regarding patients with physicians and other departmental personnel, and outside agencies on a frequent basis while respecting the confidentiality of patient information.

Intermittent requirement to lift, manipulate and hold moderate and heavy loads.Manual dexterity and visual acuity needed to remove and replace electronic components and to repair circuit boards.

This position involves potential exposure to infectious diseases. Team members are offered appropriate vaccinations and safety training.
Occasional exposure to very high voltages.Occasional work with greasy and oily equipment.Frequent exposure to radiation producing equipment.Occasional exposure to continuous loud noises.Occasional exposure to human waste and excretions, lead, cadmium, processing chemicals, solvents, and other caustic solutions.
