Customer Service EDI IT Intern (Personal Services)
Assist in monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems.
Collaborate with the Customer Service & SPS team to resolve EDI-related issues, ensuring seamless data transfer between systems.
Test and validate EDI transactions, such as purchase orders, invoices, and shipping notices.
Provide first-level support for customers and internal users experiencing EDI-related issues.
Respond to inquiries and resolve issues promptly to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Escalate complex technical issues to SR Customer Service Manager and/or SPS when necessary.
Analyze EDI data for discrepancies and recommend corrective actions for Brick & Mortar and eCommerce accounts.
Conduct a comprehensive review of current e-commerce platforms and processes, documenting existing workflows, customer journeys, and identifying pain points. Research industry best practices and benchmark against competitors to highlight areas for improvement.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to recommend and implement corrective actions for process inefficiencies, establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure effectiveness, and foster a culture of continuous improvement through regular feedback and updates on emerging e-commerce trends.
Create automated reports for the Customer Service team to analyze trends, enhance decision-making, and establish key performance indicators (KPIs) that drive continuous improvement in service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Prepare reports and summaries related to EDI activity, system performance, or customer feedback.
Create and maintain user manuals, process documentation, and troubleshooting guides for EDI systems.
Update documentation to reflect changes in systems, processes, or customer requirements.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, supply chain, and customer service, to optimize EDI workflows.
Communicate updates and status reports to stakeholders, ensuring alignment on EDI-related projects.
Proactively identify opportunities to improve EDI processes and system functionality.
Assist with other tasks and projects, such as EDI cross reference updates & Clean Up, EDI system testing, and user training.
Provide technical support to Customer Service during EDI failures.
Qualifications:
Enrolled in a degree program related to Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Information Systems, or a related field.
Familiarity with EDI standards (such as ANSI X12, EDIFACT).
Basic understanding of programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python) and scripting.
Experience with data formats (XML, JSON) and data transformation tools.
Knowledge of database management (SQL) is a plus.
Experience with EDI software or integration platforms (e.g., IBM Sterling, Cleo, or similar).
Experience with ERP systems (like SAP, Oracle, or preferably Microsoft Dynamics).
Ability to analyze and troubleshoot issues related to EDI transactions.
Experience with data analysis tools (Excel, SQL) for reporting and problem-solving.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to document processes and create user manuals or guides.
Any projects related to EDI, data integration, or automation during academic studies or previous internships.
Experience working in team environments, ideally in tech-related or project-based settings.
Hours, Location and Pay:
We offer a competitive pay rate between $20-$23 per hour. This role will work standard business hours Monday-Friday at our Little Chute, WI manufacturing facility for summer 2025.
Physical and Mental Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, hear, use hands to type data, use a personal computer and telephone. This employee may occasionally have to operate business machines and lift and/move up to 50 pounds.
