Estimator I, Days (Finance)

We're looking for an Estimator I to support our industry leading products here at Tosoh Quartz, Inc.
In this role, you will build on your manufacturing background to learn the skills needed to become an Estimator. You will learn the materials and processes required to build specialty quartz products, while developing your ability to determine manufacturability and develop cost estimates for new and existing products.
What you'll do at Tosoh Quartz.
- Support the estimating staff in reviewing technical drawings. Develop manufacturing plans and procedures, evaluate cost factors, and provide accurate quotes for TQI customers.
- Partner with manufacturing team to develop robust manufacturing processes for new products.
- Assist cross functional team to carry out Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and New Product Introduction (NPI).
- Provide estimating support to the development and production teams from a technical and cost basis.
- Maintain awareness and control of project cost, quality, scope, and schedule, to ensure on-time delivery of the project within budget. Prepare cost estimates for proposed projects and evaluate cost factors.
- Support estimating staff with part and project setup in IFS ERP system.
- Support production with technical questions and ECO requests.
Who you are.
Minimum requirements:
- High school diploma.
- 4 years of manufacturing experience in an assembly, quality, or machining environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to assemble and enter accurate data into Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) system.
We'd love to see:
- Associate degree in a technical field
- Estimating experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with an MRP system
