Handyman (Food Services)

Stewart Moving & Storage is seeking a handyman to join our team in Portsmouth, VA. We're an independent moving company with 9 locations in 5 states and known as a leader in the industry. Key responsibilities/qualifications include:
General repairs:Fixing leaky faucets, replacing light bulbs, repairing damaged drywall, patching cracks in floors and walls, fixing door hinges and handles.Carpentry work: Building & repairing crates, installing and repairing doors, trim, cabinets, and furniture.Basic plumbing:Fixing minor leaks, unclogging drains, replacing toilet seats and faucets.Basic electrical work:Replacing outlets, switches, light fixtures, troubleshooting minor electrical issues,Painting and finishing:Touch-up painting, applying paint to walls and trim, staining woodwork.Facility maintenance:Inspecting for potential issues, cleaning and maintaining common areas, replacing worn-out building components.Hand and power tool proficiency:Ability to use a variety of tools including drills, saws, screwdrivers, wrenches, and other standard maintenance tools.Basic knowledge of multiple trades:Understanding of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting principles.Problem-solving abilities:Diagnosing issues and finding effective solutions to repair problems.Attention to detail:Ensuring repairs are completed to a high standard and meet quality expectations.Physical stamina:Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in various positions.Communication skills:Clearly communicating with coworkers and managers regarding repair needs and progress. Responding to maintenance requests, communicating with General Manager in a timelymanner.Transportation/equipment: Has their own pickup truck or other work vehicle and basic tools needed.
