Position Overview
The Security Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for visitors, employees, and contractors at clients headquarters. This role is critical in upholding security procedures, verifying identification, managing access control, and ensuring the overall safety of the facility. Additionally, the Security Receptionist monitors security systems, enforces policies, and provides excellent customer service in a professional, welcoming manner.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities as a Security Receptionist may vary daily. The following list includes core duties of the position:
Visitor Management & Access Control
Greet visitors and verify their identity.Check visitors in and out using a visitor management system.Issue visitor badges and direct guests to their destination.Maintain detailed visitor logs.Ensure compliance with security policies and prevent unauthorized access.
Security & Surveillance
Monitor CCTV cameras, alarm systems (fire/intrusion), and access control panels.Respond promptly to security alerts and report suspicious activity.Communicate effectively with the on-site security team and other departments.
Incident Response & Reporting
Document and report any security breaches, suspicious behavior, or safety concerns to Metro One.Assist in emergency response efforts, including evacuations.Provide support during medical emergencies, fires, or security threats.
Communication & Customer Service
Answer calls, direct inquiries, and maintain professional phone etiquette.Ensure positive and professional visitor experience.Educate visitors on security policies and procedures.
Package Handling & Security Awareness
Receive and inspect deliveries at designated entrances.Promote a secure and professional atmosphere by reinforcing security awareness among employees and guests.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong customer service skills with a professional demeanor.Experience in security, military, law enforcement, or corporate customer service preferred.Ability to identify security risks and enforce security policies.Proficiency in security systems, such as CCTV monitoring, access control, and alarms.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, particularly in emergencies.Knowledge of security protocols and escalation procedures.Physical capability to stand for extended periods and respond quickly to security events.CPR/AED/First Aid certification (bi-annual renewal required).Valid NJ SORA license required.
