The Janitor position is tasked with general clean-up and maintaining a clean and healthy facility, including performing light maintenance.
Cleans production areas and offices.
Picks up reusable scrap from salvage and stores in containers.
Cleans areas, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other work areas.
Empties wastebaskets and empties and clean ashtrays.
Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
Picks up and maintains plant grounds to include parking and entrance areas.
Follows safety requirements for the facility, warehouse and specific position including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); follows environmental and hazardous waste disposal procedures.
Participates in process improvements, housekeeping and 5S within assigned area and/or within the facility as required or allowed by management.
Follow safety requirements for the production and warehouse facility, including job specific requirements such as wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times, attending training, and adhering to safety rules and expectations; follows environmental and hazardous waste disposal procedures.
Works in other areas to provide support, if needed.
May be required to work extra hours when needed.
What we need
Knowledge of the Safety Data Sheet (SDS), and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions
Ability to perform basic repairs and operate tools or equipment used in routine maintenance
Ability to keep the facility clean and orderly
Detail-oriented and thorough
Integrity and ability to work independently
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required
Proven working experience as a Janitor or Custodian
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods standing
Must be able to bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time
