Electronics Technician (Finance)

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Proficiency with general purpose test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.) is required
• Experience with RF test equipment (network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, etc.) is desired.
• A wide variety of assembly and fabrication experience is also desirable including proficiency with typical tools for electronic, electrical, and mechanical assembly.
• Experience with soldering and rework of board mounted electronic components (thru-hole and surface mount) is desired

Education & Experience

• Professional experience with electronics manufacturing and test
• H.S. Diploma required
  • Associate degree, technical degree or military training preferred.
• 3 - 5 years of experience in RF electronics systems preferred.
• 3 - 5 Years of experience assembling laser-based automation systems (nice to have)
• Mind-set to constantly pursue the basic understanding or root cause of problems and to continually improve.
• Detail oriented with well refined troubleshooting skills and techniques while working under minimal supervision.
• Self-motivation and the ability to maintain effectiveness in working several tasks in parallel while bringing each to conclusion, in a timely manner.
• Personal time management, project management, and organizational skills.

This individual will be an integral part of Coherent's existing RF and electronics design team consisting of a number of experienced engineers. In this position, this individual will aid in the design and development of diagnostics, controls, and other critical analog and digital circuitry which is embedded in the RF power supply. This electronics technician may occasionally assist assembly and testing of engineering prototype units for customer evaluation. Occasionally this individual will also be required to support existing products by performing failure analysis, troubleshooting existing designs, evaluating design improvements, and providing production support. This position will require hands-on work in the laboratory on a broad range of electronics systems.
