The Broker serves as a representative for the sale or purchase of a yacht or boat.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and maintain effective, friendly working relationships with staff, members, guests and deal with conflict effectively, courteously, and tactfully
Responding to member questions and needs via phone, email and in person
Market the vessel for sale, field interest and inquiries from buyers and handle negotiations
Attend inspections, water trials, and delivery
Assist a client in locating and qualifying a vessel
Assist with purchase negotiations
Available to work overtime to meet deadlines
Other duties as assigned by Manager
Safety and Environmental Responsibilities
Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.
Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area.
Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.
Technical and Physical Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required
Prior marina experience preferred
2 years' sales experience preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Basic boat handling skills required
Working knowledge of nautical navigation
