System Administrator (IT) (Information Technology)
Design, install, modify, manage, monitor, and support enterprise technology systems including servers, networks, communications, enterprise applications and any related sub-systems.
Advise other IT Services staff for problem escalation and training purposes.
Follow the department's implementation of ITIL best practices in the areas of service, problem, change, and project management.
Research, evaluate and recommend hardware and software solutions to meet organizational needs.
Communicate with users to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve technology-related problems.
Analyze and interpret server and system reports, logs, and capacities to meet organizational needs and recommend timely changes to management.
Create, read, interpret, and implement technical documentation.
Prioritize workload to efficiently support operations.
Participate in continuing technology education and professional development.
Promote a positive customer service profile.
Perform duties as assigned related to all aspects of information technology operations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 services and applications, and servers such as Windows, File, Exchange, SQL, IIS, DHCP, and DNS.
Working knowledge of virtualization such as Hyper-V or VMWare and related technology (SAN, hybrid, HCI).
Working knowledge of other Microsoft systems such as System Center, Active Directory, ADFS, Teams, SharePoint, Azure, Group Policy, and Powershell.
Working knowledge of Cisco or other network systems, protocols, and security.
Working knowledge of other systems such as VoIP communications, web conferencing, backup / disaster recovery, access control, video security, or others as assigned.
Ability to provide or assist with infrastructure support (e.g. installation, configuration, backup, upgrade, integration, authentication) of applications for departments such as Finance, HR, or others as assigned.
Working knowledge of current technology and the industry to meet current and future organizational needs.
Good analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize workload and manage time effectively.
Ability to assist and advise other IT Services staff for problem escalation and training purposes.
Ability to create, read, interpret, and implement technical procedures.
Effective use of communication skills with technical and non-technical staff.
Knowledge and practice of the ITIL framework.
Experience with an electronic health records system or healthcare environment helpful but not required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Associates degree in an information technology related program or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
5 years of experience working in an information technology field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in an information technology related program.
Microsoft MCSE or CompTIA Server+ certification.
Cisco CCNA or CompTIA Network+ certification.
Valid California Driver's License.
