POSITION SUMMARY
Area Managers are responsible for efficiently building quality modular homes and leading teams of contractors and productions specialists. Tasks will vary, but all Area Manager Production Specialists contribute to improving Fading West processes and the quality of the products we deliver.? Employees in this role will have the opportunity for leading teams, factory cross training, skills and process training, factory process development, task diversification and process verification. The Carpentry Area Manager is responsible for efficiently building quality modular homes and leading teams of Production Specialists at multiple stations. This role is primarily focused on the first stations of our production line and is responsible for the structural build-out of each model.
Responsibilities
Oversee and drive production of the following factory activities:
Floor plan mapping and wall setting.
Ceiling and roof cassette setting.
Floor construction and sheathing.
Stair setting.
Safe crane operation.
Support the needs of factory production, and lead teams of production specialists working on framing all aspects of homes on the production line.
Ensure that all home builds and layouts are executed and installed correctly and with precision according to drafted plans to minimize re-work or failed code/quality inspections.
Work with subject matter experts such as factory operations manager, engineers, drafters, and architects, as needed to improve the process and quality of work.
Focus improvement efforts on Safety, Quality, Velocity, and LEAN Concepts.
Assist with production needs and work with other supporting staff to implement new ideas and processes as it pertains to framing and home structure build-out.
Assist with training and cross-training individuals.
Reduce waste and address production issues to keep the line and supporting production areas running smoothly.
Allocate resources and talent appropriately to accomplish goals in area of responsibility
Ensure timecard and attendance accuracy for direct reports (including editing and approving daily time entries and time off requests) while ensuring the correct staffing level to support production.
Execute quarterly employee reviews with all Fading West direct reports
Ensure policy and procedure compliance among reports and elevate issues to the operations manager as needed.
Ensure employees are equipped with the tools, resources, and skills they need to safely and efficiently complete assigned tasks.
Identify, solicit, and create process improvements to production in assigned areas in collaboration with supervisors and fellow area managers.
Ensure that safety requirements and procedures are followed by all direct reports.

Qualifications
Must have proven leadership and people management skills.
Home building/ framing experience required.
Bilingual in Spanish and English is strongly preferred.
Forklift experience is a plus.
Crane operation experience is a plus.
Ability to lead teams through conflict resolution.
Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to make decisions and prioritize tasks for the team.
Experience utilizing Lean processes preferred.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Organizational, planning, and documentation skills.
