Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable IT Disaster Recovery Manager to join our team. In this role, the candidate will work closely with the internal IT teams and key stakeholders to maintain and mature a comprehensive IT disaster recovery program. This role will focus on two critical areas: governance and oversight for the IT Disaster Recovery Program and facilitating and executing the Business Continuity Program within the IT space.
This role will assist in developing and reviewing recovery strategies, ensuring the resiliency and continuity of critical business functions, in the event of a disaster. The IT Disaster Recovery Manager will conduct exercises, review documentation and coordinate recovery efforts with internal teams and external partners.
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of technology disaster recovery experience and possess excellent problem-solving skills, technical proficiency, and a strong understanding of disaster recovery principles are crucial for this position.
What You'll Do
Govern, manage and provide expert knowledge and guidance in continual improvement of the organizations IT Disaster Recovery Program, incorporating sound recovery practices. Assess and improve the disaster recovery program by evaluating governance models, risks to technology services, and disaster recovery processes and procedures.
Conduct regular testing and validation of disaster recovery and business continuity documentation (to include but not limited to technology recovery plans, disaster recovery testing scripts, evidence workbooks) via disaster event testing. Design and implement functional and tabletop exercises that target core disaster recovery processes such as data backup and recovery systems.
Collaborate with the IT teams to identify and analyze critical IT systems, processes and functions, for the IT business impact analysis (BIA). Conduct business impact analysis reviews to assess recovery requirements, verses recovery capabilities, and develop strategies to mitigate significant gaps.
Assist in developing and reviewing disaster recovery plans, including strategies, procedures, and documentation for emergency response, data backup and restoration, system recovery, and infrastructure continuity. Collaborate with IT teams to assess and enhance system recoverability and monitoring recovery time objectives (RTOs) and recovery point objectives (RPOs).
Assist in incident response and recovery efforts during crises, working closely with the disaster recovery technology coordinators and key stakeholders.
Facilitate pre and post review meetings following a disaster recovery event, or test, to assess the response effort, identify lessons learned to be incorporated in the plans, enhance response capabilities and report findings and recommendations through the appropriate channels.
Participate in multiple committee meetings, reporting on disaster recovery scoping, test results and other related topics.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in disaster recovery, resiliency, crisis management, business continuity with at least 5 of those years leading a program or direct reports.
Disaster Recovery Certified Expert (DRCE) or Disaster Recovery Certified Specialist (DRCS) (preferred).
Knowledge of the FFIEC Business Continuity Management Booklet and associated disaster recovery and business continuity risk controls.
Expertise in Business Resiliency requirements, setting, measuring and evaluating Recovery Point Objectives (RPO), Recovery Time Objectives (RTO), Business Continuity planning and development of Business Impact Analysis documentation.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Compensation
The estimated salary range for this role is $117,000.00 - $158,000.00, along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate's qualifications, skills and experience.
