Event Specialist- Remote (Finance)

Purpose:

The Event Specialist position will manage internal process requirements and communications between the department's team members. This role contributes to the successful execution of all UNFI events and meetings, encompassing large tradeshow & industry expositions, as well as internal meetings. The Event Specialist will take on various tasks as assigned for all aspects of a program, research, list management, vendor relations and on-site execution.

Job Responsibilities:

• • Simultaneously execute numerous events of varying sizes, organizing and implementing booth shipping logistics and event participation.
• • Assist with group email distributions, requests, and responses through the team email alias.
• • Works with planners on floor plan layout and table assignments
• • Responsible for establishing and maintaining effective communication coordination and working relations with internal company personnel and external customers (suppliers, production partners, hotel contacts, contractors, etc.).

Job Requirements:

Education/ Certifications: (Required & Preferred)

• BS degree in business or related field.

Experience:

• 4-5 years directly related experience in Experiential, Event or Tradeshow Management, experience
• 2-3 years directly related experience in accounting/bookkeeping, expense reporting and tracking, budget preparation and analysis
• System Implementation Preferred

Knowledge:

• Excellent organization skills and experience with project management.
• Advanced event management software and Excel skills.

Skills/ Abilities:

• Dynamic on-site presence and team building skills.
• Proven ability in creating effective, professional and timely communications with internal and external customers.
• Energetic, outgoing, extremely well organized, professional and always works with integrity.
• Strong negotiation and event management skills required.
• Must be able to work independently and proactively, think quickly, and problem-solve calmly.
• Appropriately work with all levels in the organizational structure.
• Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available

Work Environment: Remote

This position is classified as remote where the associate will perform remote work from their primary residence. Remote associates are welcome to work from the office but are not required to do so. While remote associates are not required to work from an office on a regular basis, they may be required to come to the office or other UNFI locations for necessary business reasons or if directed to do so by their manager.
