Learning and Development Supervisor (Education)
General Summary
The Learning and Development Supervisor is responsible for course design, development and training delivery for various company-wide learning initiatives and supervision of training team staff. This includes programmatic and project management responsibilities, tracking and reporting on departmental metrics and data, performing needs assessments, monitoring and administrative support of the learning management system (LMS).

Principle Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide learning and development program management for operational training programs as assigned. Tasks include administration, coordination, communication planning, business goal alignment, analysis, design, and training through implementation and provide project team leadership for L&D projects.
2. Plan, organize, schedule, and monitor work; ensure employees have information and resources to meet job expectations.
3. Participate in 1:1, team, and department meetings and lead the development, communication, and oversight of team members ensuring goals, expectations, and standards are clearly understood by staff.
4. Train, supervise, motivate, and coach employees; provide support toward employee development.
5. Evaluate and document employee performance by conducting annual performance reviews and provide regular feedback to support success. Recognize strong performance and address performance gaps and accountability as needed (corrective action).
6. Perform supervisory tasks in collaboration with Human Resources as needed.
7. Develop and maintain training documents, job aids, and presentations. Prepares and organizes material and ensures set-up of training space, systems, and resources for training sessions and ensuring program sustainability. Delivery may include classroom, virtual live, or e-learning.
8. Develop and maintain training records, KPI's, survey data, and business data. Makes recommendations for continuous improvement to support desired business outcomes.
9. Provides cross functional business unit support through conducting training programmatic needs analysis and makes recommendations based on performance or business needs.
10. Develops understanding and expertise in the appropriate application and usage of learning systems to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
11. Other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications
1. Bachelor's degree in education, adult learning, or a similar field and 3 -5 years of related work experience supervising staff, with one of those years performing work that is related to corporate learning and development required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Experience with adult learning methodology, instructional design, needs assessment, evaluation tools, data analysis and use of LMS required.
3. Certifications such as Insights, DISC, 360 Tools and/or TWI skills training preferred.
4. Knowledge of good manufacturing practices and continuous improvement.
5. Ability to operate with a high degree of emotional intelligence and to connect with people and build strong relationships across a wide variety of audiences.
6. Leads through the ability to influence, enthusiasm, and inspiring leadership.
7. Ability to be supportive and collaborative across functional areas.
8. Effective verbal and written communication and technical writing skills.
9. Flexibility, openness and an ability to modify and adapt plans as organizational needs change.
10. Ability to read and write fluently in English; bilingual skills are preferred.
11. Proficient in Microsoft Office products, and general office technology and equipment.
Working Conditions
1. Office, production and warehouse environment (dependent upon training location and subject matter).
2. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer required while in the office.
3. Prolonged period of walking and/or standing.
4. Repetitive hand, wrist and finger activities.
5. Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time.
