Epic Imaging Ancillary Applications Analyst, Lead (Finance)
This lead analyst works with operational stakeholders and IT technical staff to troubleshoot Epic system issues and problems, capture requirements for new initiatives, and aid in the planning and execution of project plans. You must have experience either with integrations or implementations.
This team works with end users to help communicate improvements needed for business processes and contribute directly to the success of the UTHealth mission from a technological, clinical, administrative, and financial perspective.
Applicants for this position should possess substantial experience in implementing and integrating a range of Imaging Applications with Epic. We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked with most of the following systems in a large healthcare setting: Fuji Synapse (Radiology PACS and CV), Endoscopy Image Capture system, Enterprise VNA, Siemens Syngo and Sensis, Agfa Enterprise, GE Viewpoint, Philips Xelera (Cardiology), PowerScribe 360, DICOM, HL7, DynaCAD, Mammography applications and other middleware applications designed for imaging systems integration with Epic. Proficiency in these diverse technologies and applications is highly desirable as it will play a pivotal role in fulfilling the responsibilities associated with this role.
The employee must be willing to come into the office at the discretion of the manager. We prefer candidates who either live in Texas or are willing to move to Texas if UTHealth Houston employs them.
Position Key Accountabilities:
1. Provides oversight and mentorship to other Epic Application Specialists, all while having frequent and regular encounters with organizational and physician leadership as assigned.
2. Performs as "lead" or key point-person for Epic application module(s) and associated functional area(s) as assigned.
3. Works collaboratively with the Application Director on resource scheduling and issue management.
4. Maintains expertise and seeks additional knowledge in supporting and optimizing assigned Epic module(s) and how they integrate with other applications.
5. Works cohesively with stakeholders to provide system support, including analysis, building, and testing of requested changes, as well as analysis of new functionality of applications.
6. Reviews, builds, tests, and implements new functionality via System Upgrades and Special Updates.
7. Works and manages multiple tasks independently.
8. Demonstrates timely, effective, and efficient troubleshooting of very complex production software and workflow issues (which may cross applications/teams) and defines mitigation plans for resolution.
9. Acts as a primary contributor in developing and documenting internal procedures to use in conjunction with Epic application support, maintenance, and optimization.
10. Helps develop and build timelines and project plans.
11. Develop and maintain system documentation to enable ongoing support and maintenance of the Epic system.
12. Assists the Application Director in developing build timelines and project plans as communicated by leadership.
13. Performs and oversees unit testing of application configurations and builds in appropriate non-production environments to identify defects and create resolution plans accordingly.
14. Assists with the creation of test scripts and ensures test scripts for integrated and end-user testing are relevant and accurate.
15. Performs testing in a structured manner, follows any defined test scripts, and documents results.
16. Performs unit testing of application configurations, builds in appropriate non-production environments, and identifies issues and potential solutions.
17. Follows established guidelines for system change control.
18. Creates and maintains documentation for change management, including cost estimation, project documentation, communication, and training plans.
19. Collaborates across teams to ensure process design, interface development, testing, and end-user training are performed to quality standards.
20. Independently performs basic project management activities for the development and implementation of system changes and medium to large projects
21. Develop application-specific reports.
22. Provides technical specifications and assistance to report developers as needed.
23. Performs other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills:
ALL CANDIDATES WILL NEED TO BE ACCREDITED OR CERTIFIED IN EITHER RADIANT, LUMENS, OR CUPID.
• Superior oral and written communication skills, including specific presentation skills and effective communication of complex subjects to non-technical groups.
• Superior customer relation skills, including leading and participating in group sessions and reaching consensus.
• Familiarity with project lifecycle and project management methodologies for software management.
• Ability to plan and manage projects of various sizes, their tasks, dependencies, team members, other resources, and timelines.
• The analytical skills to collect information from diverse sources, apply professional principles in performing various analyses, and summarize the information and data in order to solve problems or design relative systems and programs that cross department/divisional lines.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or a related discipline, or equivalent years of related experience in health care or information technology will be considered in lieu of degree.
Minimum Experience:
Seven (7) years of experience in a healthcare-related field is required. Five (5) years of experience supporting one or more Epic modules is preferred. Large-scale healthcare systems planning and implementation experience with application software products is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

Residency Requirement:
Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas. Willing to look at candidates who are looking to move to Texas within 90 days of accepting a position.
