Academic Advisor 2 (Finance)
1. Advises enrolled and prospective students regarding academic programs and curriculums.
2. Analyzes and processes degree plans, graduation applications, grade change forms, and general petitions.
3. Maintains student files updated throughout their academic careers and makes changes to records as necessary.
4. Analyzes and processes requests for readmission from academic suspension, as well as financial aid reinstatements; provides retention services for students on probation.
5. May assist in conducting orientation sessions for groups of incoming new students.
6. May assist in recruiting high school and community college students and may make presentations at special events.
7. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.

This position is responsible for advising current and prospective graduate students from admissions and retention through graduation. Duties involve, but are not limited to:
• Processes graduate admissions applications.
• Advise and refers prospective students and current students in areas concerning admissions, professional development, funding, student services, policies, degree plans, course planning and selections, and career and educational goals.
• Interprets and communicates academic policies and procedures to faculty, students and staff.
• Analyzes, monitors and processes student paperwork such as degree plans, general petitions, graduation applications, non-resident tuition waivers, and substitutions
• Maintains admissions and current student files/records throughout their academic careers and makes changes as necessary.
• Coordinates or assists with preparing and conducting student meetings such as orientations, seminars and workshops.
• Other duties as assigned.
Preferred candidates will have experience or familiarity with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions or other ERP system such as Ellucian Banner; ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others; demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal, organizational, problem solving and customer service skills; keen attention to detail; proficiency in the Microsoft 365 software.
