ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The Division of Student Success at the University of South Florida is comprised of 60 departments, providing students with academic support, engagement opportunities, health & wellness services and enhancement of the educational experience.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Director of FTIC Out-of-State Recruitment leads a team of highly skilled professionals to recruit students that meet specific enrollment targets to the University of South Florida. This role will manage the FTIC recruitment territory and recruiters and is responsible for hitting enrollment goals, travel to secondary schools, attend college fairs to meet with counselors, parents, and prospective USF students and maintain those relationships.
Conduct dynamic presentations and effectively answer questions about admission and application requirements and processes Assist with the development of the unit's recruitment and yield plan and other recruitment initiatives in collaboration with Strategic Initiatives. Analyze and monitor recruitment metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed.
The position will report to the Associate Director, FTIC recruitment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruitment Management
Lead a team of highly skilled professionals in developing a recruitment plan to implement and meet specific enrollment goals for FTIC. Manage recruitment territories by attending outreach activities in collaboration with high school representatives and community partners; participates in the
development and implementation and communication of the on-boarding process and completion of success steps for prospective students.
Presentation and Travel
Attend college fairs, high schools and other admissions events to build relationships with prospective students, applicants, counselors and parents. Provide admissions guidance through informations session, presentations and meetings with students, families and counselors through in-person and group settings and act as a point of contact. Coordinate and participates in outreach and access activities for the community and university partners as needed. Adhere to the office-wide travel policies and standard operation procedures.
Analysis
Analyze and monitor recruitment metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed. Assess applications and review academic credentials to determine admissibility and scholarship eligibility for student admission. Collaborate with Strategic Initiatives to determine marketing effectiveness and impact on applicant and enrollment goals for specific populations. Provide enrollment projections and reports to leadership as necessary.
Communication and Collaboration
Build and maintain relationships with college counselors on behalf of USF. Collaborate with university faculty and staff, departments, and community partners to reach enrollment goals. Maintain effective communication and provide admissions guidance to students.
SPECIAL SKILLS OR TRAINING: Experience in recruitment and customer service, Excellent communication skills, Strong collaboration skills and a personable and polished demeanor, Must be highly organized, Experience in training and presentation skills
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in related field. Alternatively, in specialized academic areas, the position may require a degree in that field of study.
FLSB1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.
PREFERRED:
Preferred experience undergraduate admissions or student services in a higher education setting, fluency in English, Spanish or Haitian Creole.
