Director/Senior Director, US New Products (Finance)
Overview The mission of the Director/Senior Director, US New Products is to help drive organic growth by providing commercial insights and strategic recommendations to product development teams and management committees that maximize asset value across the mid-to-late-stage pipeline portfolio and through LCM, as well as drive inorganic growth by delivering commercial assessments and strategic recommendations on business development opportunities. Responsibilities
Gather and compile key in-depth insights from relevant appropriate sources as basis for strategy development and strategic recommendations:
Syndicated, market reports and secondary market data
Benchmarking and analog analysis
Key opinion leader interviews
Survey design and fielding
Competitive intelligence
Published literature
Internal expert consultation and collaboration
Perform early commercial strategy activities for developmental products:
Perform market landscape assessments
Conduct commercial attractiveness and market sizing activities for developmental products
Identify key target audiences develop deep understanding of corresponding unmet needs
Gather external stakeholder-based insights and provide commercial and strategic inputs in order to optimize the Target Product Profile
Conduct commercial assessment activities and provide input relating to life cycle plans
Conduct commercial assessments of potential in licensing or M&A candidates
Develop key commercial strategy planning elements, including SWOT analysis, branding, product differentiation, positioning, segmentation, and early market access / pricing strategy
Develop financial assessment inputs and perform forecasting and NPV analyses
Minimum Job Requirements Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences (MBA or graduate degree in related discipline preferred).
Minimum 8-10 (Director) / 10-12 (Senior Director) years of experience in pharma new product planning or similar early commercial strategy / analytics roles.
Exceptional analytical skills, strategic thinking, creativity and problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent data gathering competency involving broad range of primary market research activities and secondary data sources.
Highly developed planning and prioritization skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks/assignments with demanding deadlines without compromising quality.
Cultural awareness and sensitivity.
Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills including ability to communicate effectively and influence at all levels without authority.
High level of energy, enthusiasm and commitment.
Creative problem solver.
Self-starter.
Other Requirements
This position has significant decision-making authority.
Ability and willingness to travel approximately 5% of the year.
Must live a commutable distance to our US Corporate Headquarters in Florham Park, NJ. Office presence required 50% per month, at least 2-3 days per week.
Essential Physical and Mental Requirements
Ability to articulate clearly and conduct verbal presentations with large and small audiences.
Ability to travel via automobile and/or airplane.
Ability to view video display terminal images
Ability to operate a computer keyboard and telephone.
Ability to sit for extended periods of time - up to four (4) hours at a time.
Ability to lift, tug, pull up to fifteen (15) pounds.
