ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The School of Aging Studies (SAS) is one of the nation's first cohort of degree-awarding programs in Gerontology. Our PhD in Aging Studies program, established in 1994, was the third interdisciplinary program in Gerontology/Aging Studies in the U.S. Graduates of our PhD program have achieved great success in academia, postdoctoral fellowships, and policy positions. SAS also offers master?s degrees in Gerontology and Applied Aging Sciences, graduate certificate programs in Gerontology and Clinical Aging Sciences, as well as two undergraduate degree programs in Health Care Administration and Aging Sciences, along with and a minor in Aging Studies.
The NIH NOSI (NOT-AG-21-049): Dementia Care Workforce for Those Living with Alzheimer's Disease-Related Dementias calls for research to develop training for direct care workers to identify competencies that improve organizational processes related to staffing and ADRD care outcomes.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the PI, the study research nurse will be responsible for assisted living resident data abstraction from chart review in study sites in the Tampa area. They will be responsible to set up the database for data entry and verification of data using the RedCap software program under the direction of study statistician and Principal Investigator. Travel is required. Must have own transportation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM: This position requires licensure as a registered nurse in accordance with Chapter 464, Florida Statutes, or eligible to practice nursing in accordance with Chapter 64 B9, Florida Administrative Code. Bachelor's degree in Nursing with two years of nursing research or directly related experience; OR an Associate's degree in Nursing with four years of same experience. A Master's degree in Nursing is Preferred
PREFERRED: Familiarity with electronic and hard copy medical records in long-term care settings (assisted living or nursing home) is preferred. Research experience and familiarity with RedCap or similar cloud database entry systems (e.g., Qualtrics) preferred. Excellent communication skills preferred. Experience with team science.
