Turf and Ornamental Technician (Maintenance)

Purpose and Description
The Turf & Ornamental Technician performs fertilization and pest control management for lawns, trees, and shrubs. This position requires training and certification to ensure a safe work environment for personnel who handle chemical applications. The Technician must strictly adhere to federal, state, and local regulations and laws. Strong communication and time management skills are essential to effectively schedule and report on client needs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Apply fertilization and pest control treatments to lawns, trees, and shrubs. Conduct, analyze, and interpret soil tests to develop appropriate treatment plans. Diagnose diseases and conditions affecting turf, ornamental plants, and trees. Schedule and route fertilization, pesticide, and herbicide applications, ensuring proper mix ratios and application methods. Apply pre-emergent and post-emergent landscape bed weed control throughout the growing season. Perform ornamental services such as planting, staking, fertilization, applying pesticides, and pruning. Provide turf services including seeding, overseeding, aeration, dethatching, and cleanup. Prepare and manage client renewal agreements while providing ongoing customer service. Order, maintain inventory, and store materials properly. Opportunity for year-round employment, including snow plowing. Perform other duties as assigned.
