POSITION SUMMARY
Area Managers are responsible for efficiently building quality modular homes and leading teams of contractors and productions specialists. Tasks will vary, but all Area Manager Production Specialists contribute to improving Fading West processes and the quality of the products we deliver.? Employees in this role will have the opportunity for leading teams, factory cross training, skills and process training, factory process development, task diversification and process verification. The Mill/Mezz Area Manager specifically oversees the section of the factory that completes sub-assemblies pre-work that is then delivered to the point of use on our production line.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership and direction for teams of contractors and production specialists.
Oversee each section of the mill/mezz area of the factory to ensure quality products are being delivered to the point of use. Sections include:
Cabinet assembly
Dry wall cutting to produce packets for correct floor plans.
Lumber cutting to model specifications using optimizing saw and delivering to framing tables for assembly.
Produce window hoops.
OSB cutting and delivery.
Wall building and delivery
Stair building and delivery
Ceiling/Roof building and delivery
Focus improvement efforts on Safety, Quality, Velocity, and LEAN Concepts.
Work with other support staff to implement solutions and process improvements.
Assist with training and cross training individuals.
Reduce waste and address production issues to keep the installation line and supporting production areas running smoothly.
Ensure timecard and attendance accuracy (including editing and approving daily time entries and time off requests) while ensuring correct staffing level to support production.
Ensure policy and procedure compliance among reports and elevate issues to supervisor as needed.
Help resolve employee issues through appropriate conflict resolution and leadership.
Ensure employees are equipped with the tools, resources, and skills they need to safely and efficiently compete assigned tasks.
Ensure that safety requirements and procedures are followed by all reports.

Qualifications
Must have proven leadership experience
Home building, trades, construction, or related experience required
Ability to lead teams through conflict resolution.
Ability to make decisions and prioritize tasks for the team.
Bilingual speaker for English/Spanish is a plus.
Experience utilizing Lean processes preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail.
Organizational, planning, and documentation skills.
Ability to work on multiple projects in various stages simultaneouslyIn-Person (this position cannot be performed remotely)
