Dietary Aid - Ojai Health and Rehabilitation (Food Services)

General Purpose:
The Dietary Aide supports the kitchen team in meal service and sanitation, assisting the Cook and Dietary Supervisor to ensure residents receive quality meals in a clean, safe environment.

Essential Duties:

• Set up and deliver meal trays.
• Strip returned trays and operate the dishwasher.
• Assist in meal service and preparation of nourishments/snacks.
• Monitor and record dishwashing water temperatures and chlorine concentration.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain kitchen floors.
• Remove trash and store groceries safely and neatly.
• Clean work surfaces, equipment, and refrigerators.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and assist as needed.
• Participate in orientation and training of dietary staff.
• Foster positive working relationships across departments.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Food Handlers' Certificate (required or able to obtain).
• Ability to read and follow recipes and sanitation procedures.
• Basic math skills (fractions, percentages).
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent standing, walking, reaching, and lifting (up to 50 lbs).
• Occasional climbing, kneeling, or crouching.
• Ability to work in a moderate noise kitchen environment.
