What you'll be challenged to do:
Gannett Fleming TranSystems is seeking a Senior Business Development Coordinator (SBDC) to join our Tacoma, WA office. This position plays a key role in supporting our continued growth across Washington and the West Region, leading area efforts for various infrastructure sectors including aviation, facilities, and transportation. The SBDC will be assigned to clients and be responsible for developing and executing strategies to grow relationships and deliver tactics at each stage of the proposal and business development process, including hands-on proposal writing and development. You will be an integral partner to our other Washington Client Service Team members, as well as part of a national business development team focused on work sharing and career development.

Primary Responsibilities (others may be included):
Your Role and Impact
You will work with marketing and business development teams, client service leaders, and subject matter experts to execute business development and marketing strategies for targeted opportunities and clients throughout the West Region. These activities include major company pursuits, proposals, and shortlist interview presentations, client strategy and action planning, marketing and business development initiatives, and database management.
All qualified candidates will be required to provide work samples and asked to participate in proficiency screenings, such as writing, editing, proofing, and presentation creativity.
Proposals and Presentations | Pursuit Strategy and Production
You will prepare strategic, client-focused proposals and presentations and statement of qualification responses, coach shortlist interview teams, and lead the development of marketing and pre-positioning efforts. In addition, you will be responsible for managing and executing the pursuit capture plan, facilitating pursuit strategy meetings, coordinating deliverables with teaming partners, and creating a winning strategy to ensure the preparation and delivery of high-quality, creative, and compliant proposals, presentations, and marketing materials.
You will brainstorm and strategize with pursuit and client service teams to understand what the client decision-makers need and value. Part of your role will be to develop insights on how our proposals can systematically be more successful. You will provide constructive feedback, pushing ideas further, and debrief proposal outcomes with client service teams, gaining insight on what we did well and where we could do better.
Major Company Pursuits Capture Planning | Pursuit Strategy and Execution
You will lead capture planning efforts for Major Company Pursuits (our most significant area pursuits) throughout the West Region, in conjunction with the area officers, Managing Director, and/or Market Sector Leaders. This includes guiding teams through TranSystems' capture planning process, starting at least 3-12 months before the RFP is released. You will lead efforts to ensure pursuit teams are positioning appropriately in advance of the RFP release, and providing strategic, client-focused proposals and presentations and statement of qualification responses, coaching shortlist interview teams, and leading the development of marketing and pre-positioning efforts. In addition, you'll be responsible for leading or coaching others to lead the pursuit capture plan, facilitating pursuit strategy meetings, coordinating deliverables with teaming partners, and creating a winning strategy to ensure the preparation and delivery of high-quality, creative, and compliant proposals, presentations, and marketing materials for these highly-competitive and large pursuits.
Client Service Teams | Client Strategy and Action Planning
Working closely with the Washington Client Service Teams and Regional and National Leadership, you will facilitate client strategy meetings to help us achieve client-specific goals and grow our position in the Washington marketplace. In addition, you will work to identify trends, client behavior, opportunities and gather competitor and marketplace intelligence to develop actionable plans to build and strengthen client relationships.
Marketing Information System Management (MIS) | Qualifications, Pipeline, Wins and Sales
A fundamental responsibility within the role of the SBDC is maintaining and updating information in our Marketing Information System (Deltek Vision) to include opportunity data, project information, and resumes. You will be responsible for maintaining an accurate record of pursuit performance data including leads / pipeline, wins and sales. Another important responsibility is capturing high-end descriptions of projects and maintaining up-to-date and current resumes for project teams in Deltek Vision. You may also support the Managing Directors with pipeline, wins and sales reporting, identifying trends and updates on pending wins and sales, and tracking toward the client, area, regional, and market sector sales goals.

This compensation range is specific to the State of Washington and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; internal peer equity; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Gannett Fleming TranSystems, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $30-$50/hr.
